| Subject: MAURER GRANDSON IS BORN!!!!! Desmond Barton Maurer, Dezi, for short, was born at 6:05pm on August --th, 2007. 8 lbs. 5 oz. 19 ½ inches long. Head of blond hair, little chin, full cheeks, Johnny’s earlobes (per Kasey). Kasey surprised Johnny with a shirt that said, “Dezi’s Dad” on the front and something about being born in Boulder, CO on the back. (I forgot through all the excitement) They got to the hospital at 11am this morning, after Kasey DROVE to get Johnny at work after her water broke this morning. She didn’t want to wait for him to make the 30-minute walk home. Good thing, b/c Johnny said she wasn’t able to pack up the car by the time they got home with her contractions. Dezi was born at 6:05pm! Kasey has a fever while she was in labor, so they were concerned for both her & the baby. Baby is okay, and Kasey is, too, however, she’ll be on antibiotics for 24 hours or so. They will come home on Saturday and Johnny is spending the night both nights with them both. They both sounded happy! And I heard Dezi crying in the background! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wish I could be there tomorrow to see & hold him!!!!!!!!!! As soon as they get home though, we’re going to see him on the web camera. |
